Stacie’s Roses
Her mother used to have a vast Rose garden
to keep her memory close
every first of the month I’d bring her pink roses.
And by mid week she’d bathe in the petals,
I’d call it wasting flowers and she would reply blissfully
“I want to feel closer to heaven, let the Angels kiss me.”
I could never understand why She would want another Angel to kiss her
when she was an Angel to me.
